Snow Day

Things have been super crazy this January, so I was very thankful to have a day off, a full day off of no work and no school, to spend at home catching up on a little bit of housework and more importantly catching up on time with the family. I was able to fold laundry, bake bread, make popcorn, watch movies, take the kids sledding, catch up on a bit of sleep, and even make popsicles on a freezing cold day. Yes, yes a lovely day indeed.

Sweet potato hash, fried eggs on top, and plenty of hot sauce on top + lovely magazine reading to start off my day.

Seeded bread rising.

Lots o' popcorn; salted and kettle style.

So much fun in the snow and meeting a new family in the neighborhood, with the added bonus of a like minded mama...she sends her kids to the local Waldorf school, lovely :-).

Such a pretty eleven year old, complaining that her fingers were freezing through the gloves.

A sweet little boy that could have spent hours out in the snow if his mama didn't have to go shape the rising bread into loaves.

Pajamas, popcorn, and a movie directly after sledding.

Yes! Popsicles on a snowy day.

Gorgeous bread for the kids' sandwiches.

Tacos for dinner.

A late night popsicle treat for me...so yummy.
Yes indeed, a great day totally off.
Peace, Yasmin

My baby turned eleven today. I almost can not believe how fast these eleven years have gone by. She was the perfectly content baby and has grown into a beautiful, gentle, caring young lady. We are so proud of all of her achievements and look forward to her bright future, but for now I would like to just keep her exactly as she is..an innocent kid still wanting to hang with mom and dad.
Ashleigh two years ago.
Ashleigh now...she was gifted a stuffed horse doll and I love that she still enjoys her dolls.

Electronics, of course.

Great Wall of Chocolate.

Mmmmm P.F. Changs.

Really another picture, mom?

So, this is what eleven looks like. She is all about clothes, jewelry, reading, friends, her kindle, and silly times with her little brother. I quite enjoy eleven...responsible enough to get her own breakfast, but young enough to still care enough for her baby brother to hang with him. Happy Birthday my sweet sweet girl...don't grow up too fast.
Peace, Yasmin

The Holidays

I know, I know, this post is way overdue. December was actually somewhat of a blur for me. If you work in the hospitality field, you know that the holidays means lots and lots of overtime. Fortunately I did have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, but those were really the only two days I had off in December once last semester was done at school. So here is a post with probably way too many pictures, but I wanted to share what the holidays were like for us. Enjoy.

My sister gave me a Calvin Klein Cowl, so I could feel all fancy-like.

Figuring out her new rubber band loom.

Lunch on Christmas day.

A walk in the park on Christmas day.

New pajamas for everyone.

A large glass of Baileys for me.
Yes, a ridiculous amount of photos.
